This house was designed to create space without excess square footage needed for circulation. The tight square plan was repeated on the basement, first, second and roof top level patio. Windows were placed to best capture the panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains.
The interior features reclaimed wood from a felled tree at the historic Boydville Mansion, recycled paper/resin countertops, wool carpeting, and locally crafted hardwood cabinets. Niches were designed into the stairway, kitchen and bedroom to feature the families’ turned wood art collection. The rooftop patio features a green roof with lightweight pavers and an aluminum and cable railing. Other project highlights include passive solar design, geothermal heating and cooling, and the use of healthy non-toxic finish materials.
