Renovation of a 9,000 square foot, former pre-Civil War hotel building for re-use as an interpretive center with office suites and retail space. The project included the restoration of the exterior brick and limestone facades, the restoration and recreation of the original cornice and three story porch, the repair of the roof and a complete restoration/renovation of the building's condemned interior. A new stair and elevator were introduced in order to make the facility code compliant. Restoration of the exterior was based on extensive historic research. GDA won an AIA Craftsmanship Award for the restored exterior.
