P R O J E C T D E S C R I P T I O N
Construction of a 6,000 square foot transportation center, designed to serve the needs of rail, bus and taxi service throughout the region. The new structure adopted the Italianate language of the existing, pre-Civil War hotel building it is attached to and took on a massing that echoed a former dining hall structure that had been raised years ago. The new station also needed to accommodate the engineering requirements for the future construction of a pedestrian bridge to cross over three active tracks. GDA designed the 5 acre site landscaping, parking lot and storm water system.
