Martinsburg, WV

The former VA Post Theater (c. 1953) was redesigned by GDA to provide multi-purpose conference space for the mid-Atlantic region of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC). The building was totally renovated to include a large meeting room that could be subdivided with operable partitions into up to five smaller meeting spaces. The building will principally be used for training thereby requiring all spaces be fully accessible - including a multi-level first floor, second floor, restrooms and refreshments area.

The building’s exterior received a make-over with new segments of the structure being expressed with a cementitious rain screen. Other upgrades included improved insulation in walls and roof, a new HVAC system that meets current energy efficiency standards and all new interior finishes throughout.
